We worship the essence of our ancestors
May sustainers of the world live in our minds
May the ancestors guide our way-Pitru Gayatri Mantra
I often talk about Ketu, and how it is natural, but something that we often overlook is that aside from Ketu ruling your destiny, it can also rule your bad habits, unconscious biases, and a lot of your karmic baggage from a past life.
The reason that Ketu rules loss and purification is because, where your Ketu is has a lot of natural baggage, a lot of past life debts. As a young person, the native experiences Ketu not as loss, but as overstimulating excess. When the excess is overstimulating, one learns to zone it out, and to run away from it.
The reason to run away from Ketu is because people understand a simple truth where it is. When you face the overstimulating excess, you will have to wade through it all, to clean it up. It’s like cleaning up a hoarder’s house, and it is effort. One of the clear signs that someone is going through, or has successfully gone through a Ketu activation is them looking extremely tired, and extremely relieved. It can be like cutting of core parts of your own self, things that needed to go.
People with strong Ketu often go towards Rahu activities, specifically to avoid Ketu. They are not particularly good at Rahu, which is why it’s common for people with strong Ketu to be unsuccessful and meandering.
Ketu gives a very strong sense of purpose, and a very strong sense of impulsivity. The baggage related to your past life often leads you to unconsciously recreating similar situations, over and over again, and this lack of understanding of why you are behaving in that way.
So, when Ketu is past life baggage, and compulsivity that keeps hounding you, why do I recommend going towards it? It’s a simple reason, it is because when it comes to Ketu, the native needs to gain an awareness of the core of what it is that Ketu desires for them. Finding the baby in the bathwater. When natives do not pay attention to Ketu, they often drown the baby, and wonder why their life is going so wrong.
When one locks in and understands their priorities with Ketu, they can actually understand better what to prioritize, and what to get rid of. This is not something one can really do with just Rahu.
Rahu does have an important role to play in all of this. While Ketu is about loss and removal, Rahu is the new reality that you create for yourself. While I often talk about Rahu being unsustainable and anxiety inducing, something that is does is that it can reprogram your reality.
When you start cutting out the excess and the rot with Ketu, something you will find is that Rahu comes to you naturally, to fill the space that Ketu creates. This is not something that you need to put too much effort into, nor is it something you must control. It is an easy and natural process.
The process here is to understand what you prioritize the most with your Ketu, through meditation, ancestral veneration, and deep self reflection. Then, as you get rid of everything else where Ketu lies, you can use Rahu to bring in new things. When you use Rahu in this manner, to bring in a new reality which aligns to your Ketu priorities, you can then find success in a way that is sustainable and easy.
With Rahu, because of unfamiliarity, it is easy to overdo with it, or to give in to the impulse to expand in a grotesque manner. How do you know when you’re overdoing it vs using it correctly? The trick here is simpler than you might think. You just need to have fun.
Rahu is an illusion, and it is the way that you play with reality. It is not your reality that should take over your life. When you are tired, when you feel anxious, it is not the time to sink into Rahu, or work harder. Ask yourself whether you are having fun, and if you are not having fun, then remember what your priority is, with regards to Ketu.
