Jay
Okay, lets get into this. I am running something of a business here. I am passionate about delivering good astrology information to the masses, and this website is a vehicle for doing this, however, running this website, answering questions, and writing posts for this website are all expenses for me, with regards to both the monetary aspect (I pay for this website to be up, and there are no ads on here), the time aspect (thinking of posts, writing them down, and figuring out the best way to deliver information in a concise way). Writing things, especially writing long form content, is not an easy thing for me, and it tires me out.
While this can be considered advertisement for my business, and that’s important, end of the day, I am not just doing it for free, but at the cost of both time and money. Frankly, if you regard the amount of money I make, with the amount of time and effort I put into this website, it’s not proportional in any sense. This isn’t a problem for me, btw. As I said, I enjoy delivering good astrological information for free, and I love astrology being more accessible. However, this does mean that I have the right to post as much, or as little as I want to, based on my personal enjoyment, and the right to not answer any questions you might send me. I generally do answer most questions, even if I answer late. This is a public service, and not something you are entitled to from me.
If you would like astrological information from me more often, or more regularly, you can pay me for a consultation. My rates are not high, and I’m willing to answer whatever questions you might have, whether for a personal reading, or for explanations that you might want for astrology.
Now that that’s done, lets get into the real questions.
how can rahu be fake and a panderer and also the outcast and cause for revolution?
j
what planet/guna/thing is responsible for pretence? either conscious or unconscious
s
The problem here is that you are thinking too much in personal terms. It’s not bad to think of Rahu as its own deity, or personify it, because it’s a useful way to understand the planets, but in the case of Rahu and Ketu, you need to see them as one single being, separated from each other. As in, they always work together.
When Rahu is called fake or a panderer, and Ketu is called authentic or original, you need to understand that they’re coming from the exact same place. Rahu is imitating and faking. But, at its best, it is imitating ketu, divinity, and bringing it to the real world. And, when you make the immaterial material, as rahu does, you will naturally lose out on certain nuances, and not just that, but your vision (ketu), will not necessarily be seen by outsiders. People only see Rahu, and they never see Ketu. Your divine inspiration is authentic, but the product of that inspiration can’t be authentic, because it is a cheap imitation of the inspiration. Hope this makes sense.
according to many astrologers a person is going to meet their fate no matter what, right? why is it that out of almost 400 people in this world, it was the fate of only 30 or so women to be billionaires while the rest of the 380 billionaire are men?
.
Quite a philosophical question to ask me, a simple astrologer. I’m not a religious guru, yk? I do have an answer, tho. The structure of the fate is such that people who are “meant” to do something specific will be born in circumstances that allow them to do that. Most women aren’t allowed certain opportunities, and souls that are “meant” to be billionaires will usually take birth as a man just because that is easier. There are, of course, women who do have the fate, but being born as a woman who is allowed those opportunities by life is rarer. Just my opinion, tho. I don’t actually know the machinations of fate, this is just me using logic.
what is the astrology behind this o great sage
:3
I find this user a bit weird, and I’m not even entirely sure I agree with that. Probably has something to do with moon/mars, and budh aditya yoga, if u think it’s accurate.
are there more male planets than female? sun, mars, jupiter being male and moon and Venus being female. and i think saturn is a eunuch and mercury is genderless…? does this have broader implications on world?
sam
In vedic astrology, all the planets are male, including Moon and Venus. There’s no broader implications, honestly, and it’s just a sign of society being misogynistic. In more of an esoteric context, the planets are sometimes seen as male and the nakshatras/signs, as females, and placements of planets being the union of planet/nakshatras. You can see it in that sense, too. You can also as easily imagine all these planets as females, which I actually do through the Mahavidyas. In reality, all the planets are genderless, and you can project what you want on them. You can create your own symbolism, and you should
would you agree that the 2-8 house axis can be considered the serial killer axis? as in indicating general psychopathic/sociopathic behaviour. also the culinary profession seems to attract the most psychopaths.
;
No.
do you have a book list on jyotish and occult somewhere If not could you rec some pls <3
sim
Unfortunately, not really. I do recommend Komilla Sutton’s book on the basics of vedic astrology, but to be very honest, I haven’t found books that are really comprehensive or as detailed as I like. IMO, you’d be better off praying for knowledge, and making your own notes. However, Siddhi of Shreemastrology does have a compilation of books on her drive if you ask her for it (or if you know where to look). The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo is my favourite occult ritual book, but that might not be for everyone.
do house placements change too when you switch from tropical to sidereal?
ua
yeah, sometimes. depend on factors such as the house system you’re using (placidus doesn’t change at all based on whatever ayanamsha. WSH, which is traditionally used in Vedic astrology, can change based on ayanamsha.
I just don’t understand why people complain so much about 1H ketu and 7H rahu in a native’s chart, crying about trauma this or trauma that. Isn’t the sun the karaka of the 1st house? And isn’t ketu supposed to signify authenticity? It doesn’t seem like an entirely bad placement at all. Especially when compared to 1H rahu like some people do. Rahu 1H sounds like a good placement for actors to have. What do you think?
mon
Every placement has its difficulties that you can’t see. Ketu first house and rahu first house are equal struggles, and the problem with authenticity is that authenticity is always disliked, and Ketu first house learns to emulate the people around them so that they can create close relationships (rahu 7H). It’s also a placement that leads to a lot of outright hatred being directed towards the Ketu first houser, and that can be traumatic. It’s a very very vulnerable placement, because they can’t hide themselves. It’s why it leads to isolation.
Don’t you think uphal would be a more apt exaltation for mercury rather than hasta
🏝️
Not really? I think the association of Hasta as hands, as skillfulness, is far more suited for Mercury, tbh.
is natal rectificatuon something you would offeras a service or even recommend? i wouls love to get an astro consultation but am limited due to my lack of accurate birth time lol
yuu
I’d recommend it if you are interested in astrology, but it’s not a service I offer because I’m not the best at it. That said, there are alternate modes of divination that can still work, such as tarot card readings, shufflemancy (a personal fave of mine), and many others. It’s something you can get creative with. So, it really depends on you.
do you have any book or resource recommendations when it comes to someone who is a noob at symbolism/esoteriscism/literature? lowkey feel a bit dumb when i look at how yall are able to analyze and connect everything
haku
No, but what I recommend is simple googling, taking an interest in literature, and reading as much as you can. Read other people’s interpretations of not just astrology, but in literature, you can make notes on how people use symbolism, and most importantly, learn to trust yourself. The thing about symbolism is that it’s something that can be learnt, but it’s more a skill to develop, than it is something you can learn through reading. Symbolism is just metaphors, and you need to think about those symbols, and how they are like something else you think of. As you practice, this skill will improve.
if you’re getting initiated with one deity, can you pray to others?
Jellyfish
I’m no religious expert, personally, but if you are talking about vedic deities, then yes, you absolutely can and should pray to others. Some deities, such as the Abrahamic god, demand monotheism, but if the deity you are initiated with is part of a pantheon, and doesn’t have such strict stipulations, then you can absolutely pray to any deity you want.
Even if the deities do have strict rules on monotheism, this can be worked around by understanding every deity as just a form of the deity you worship/are initiated to, but these lines are blurry.
I don’t get why bharani, the nak constantly associated with karma, ethics and consequences, would be the debilitation of Saturn which is also associated with the same things… karma, justice etc? Shani is described as being dark complexioned and so is Yama. Maybe bharani should be noted as lacking moralisms than just “moralisms?”
ree
Thank you for asking this question, I love it!
I think the difference between how Saturn rules ethics, and how Bharani rules ethics is based on the goal. Basically, think of Bharani as an individual sport, and of Saturn as a team sport. Both have rules to keep the game fair, but the rules have to be different for each of them.
Bharani starts off as a dependent nakshatra, symbolized by the womb, and the goal of it, as it is in the sign of Aries, is to eventually become more independent. The ethics of Bharani is to cultivate independence in a way where what one achieves belongs to them, with no others having the ability to take credit for what they achieve. Bharani can be disposed in the beginning to take advantage of other people, to use what they do to gain what they want. It is an individual actor, and how you work as an individual comes with its own set of rules.
On the other hand, Saturn is about community, about teamwork, and about achieving things as a unit, not as an individual. The ethics of working as a team, of understanding that people are stronger together, is fundamentally different, and requires more of a focus on interpersonal relationships, and of smoothing out differences. There is more of a need for harmony with Saturn, which Bharani doesn’t have.
The focus of Bharani ethics is, “you stay out of my business, and I’ll stay out of yours”, and the focus of Saturnian ethics is, “be someone who other people can rely on”. Both are forms of ethics, but this nuance is where the difference shines.
