Question
- What do rahu-ketu truly represent? I have always found the obsession and detachment description a bit incomplete for some reason.
- How does exchange between planets operate?
- Does mercury actually combust or not?
- This is not a question but I hope you are having a lovely day. <3
- I will be posting a whole post dedicated to Rahu and Ketu at some point! So, you can wait for that. Until then… I think it’s best to think of Rahu as the tangible, the material, and Ketu as the intangible, and the immaterial. Rahu is the Maya of the world, and Ketu is the divine truth of the world. Rahu, acting in the material world, feels like it will give us control, which is why we obsess over it, and Ketu, prayer, meditation, letting the world be, and isolating ourselves, feels like giving into it will make us lose control, which is why we avoid it.
- To understand exchanges, we need to first understand rulerships. When one planet is ruled by another planet, what it means is that before a planet acts, it always asks permission of the planet it is ruled by. Some planets are very permissive with other planets, while other planets are controlling and restrictive to a planet. In the case of mutual exchange, these planets are ruled by one another, and are always in agreement with one another. So, they sort of create a cycle where both these planets become extremely strong.
- Mercury does combust! The reason some people may say that it doesn’t is because Mercury is never more than one sign away from the sun, so it spends more time than other planets being combust. But, interestingly, Mercury is also the planet that goes retrograde most often. This is related to the fickle and easily changing nature of Mercury
- Thank you!!! This is so sweet
